The hospital’s medical/surgical/pediatric wing is a 38-bed inpatient unit, including bariatric, isolation and palliative care rooms.
To enhance strict confidentiality, all of the rooms at Fort Memorial Hospital are private rooms. The larger rooms reflect the latest safeguards in patient safety. The rooms comfortably accommodate family and visitors, incorporate in-room patient monitoring systems, wireless Internet access and electronic medical records. Soothing wall and floor colors, aromatherapy and lighting with individual controls offer patients supportive environments to heal faster.
The Med/Surg/Peds wing is also home to the Center for Joint Replacement, as well as modern surgical suites, a centralized nurse station and private corridors for patient transfers between the ICU, surgical rooms and other areas of the hospital.
The hospital has also instituted the “No Passing Zone”, an initiative that became effective on March 1, 2011. To be certain that all of our patients feel their immediate needs are being met, all hospital staff members, regardless of their role, will check on a patient with an activated call light. This initiative will ensure that patients, family members and visitors will receive a rapid response during times of need, no matter their location within the hospital.
