FREE Seminar: Joint ReplacementMonday, February 8, 2010
FORT ATKINSON –Dr. Isidoro Zambrano, an orthopedic surgeon with Fort HealthCare Orthopaedic Associates, is hosting a free seminar about joint health and joint replacement surgery on Tuesday, February 16, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Fort Memorial Hospital Auditorium in Fort Atkinson. No registration is required, and refreshments will be provided. The seminar is educational, and open for anyone to attend.
According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, musculoskeletal disorders and diseases are the leading cause of disability in the United States and account for more than one-half of all chronic conditions in people over 50 years of age. Beyond the statistics, the human toll in terms of the diminished quality of life is immeasurable for many people.
Musculoskeletal disorders and diseases affect the body’s muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Most conditions develop over time and are caused by heredity and a number of factors affecting joint condition. You should speak with your doctor if you are experiencing discomfort, aches and pains, or more serious symptoms in any of your joints.
Dr. Zambrano specializes in spine, shoulder, hip and knee ailments in patients of all ages. Procedures include spinal decompression, discectomy and fusions, Kyphoplasty, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopic shoulder surgery and total shoulder, hip and knee replacements. While surgery isn’t always a recommended course for treatment, a detailed overview of knee and hip replacement surgery will be given. The seminar will also focus on arthritic conditions, and provide a comparison between computer assisted, robotic and conventional surgery methods.
The seminar is also a way for attendees to meet Dr. Zambrano, one of the five expert orthopedic surgeons with Fort HealthCare Orthopaedic Associates.
