School district, Fort HealthCare, Tomorrow's Hope team up to fight childhood obesity

Tuesday, December 28, 2010 - Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects nearly 10 percent of Wisconsin children and adolescents. One of the best strategies to reduce childhood obesity is to improve the diet and exercise habits of your entire family. Treating and preventing childhood obesity helps protect the health of your child now and in the future. Fort HealthCare, the School District of Fort Atkinson and Tomorrow's Hope have teamed up to offer a wellness challenge to any family with children in the Fort Atkinson school district, including parochial and home-schooled students. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 - Fort HealthCare has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Free Prostate Screening Dates in September

Girl Scout Gold Award project benefits Fort HealthCare CPR program

Thursday, July 1, 2010 - 15 year-old Carly Wallace, daughter of Mike and Kristin Wallace of Fort Atkinson, will be a sophomore at Fort Atkinson High School. She's doing her part to help save lives in Jefferson County and beyond. To raise the money for the CPR Anytime Kits, Wallace is selling microwavable heating bags for $8 each.
