Fort HealthCare community assessment is roadmap to wellness

Thursday, November 10, 2011 - On a regular basis, Fort HealthCare engages in a comprehensive survey of area households to determine the health related needs and behaviors of residents. The results have helped Fort HealthCare develop programs and services that addressed specific needs as described by survey participants such as greater access to cardiology and oncology services, as well as new educational offerings and wellness classes. Diabetes Day indoor walk event at Fort HealthCare

Tuesday, November 1, 2011 - Free health screenings will be available 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Fort Memorial Hospital. Please use the Ambulatory Service entrance on McMillen Street. People with diabetes, family members and those seeking to understand their health are encouraged to participate. Love Lights Tree Lighting, December 1

Monday, October 24, 2011 - For 27 years, the response from individuals, organizations, clubs and businesses has made the Fort Memorial Hospital Love Light Tree project a successful annual event, exemplifying the spirit of giving. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 - The City of Fort Atkinson Wastewater Utility and Fort HealthCare will be holding a mercury-to-digital thermometer exchange at the Fort Atkinson Farmers Market on Saturday, September 3, 8:00 a.m. through Noon. Family Health Fair and Radio Disney Coming to Jefferson

Tuesday, August 16, 2011 - Fort HealthCare will be hosting the second annual Family Health Fair from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Center on Saturday, August 27. Blood drive saves 183 local lives

Thursday, June 30, 2011 - Fort HealthCare held another successful blood drive, hosted by the Blood Center of Wisconsin, on Monday. There were 61 donations, enough to save up to 183 lives in the community. Love Lights purchased DASH 5000 monitor for Emergency Services

Friday, June 17, 2011 - Each year, the Fort HealthCare Partners raise funds for new equipment, at Fort Memorial Hospital, through the sale of Love Lights. The 2010 campaign allowed the emergency department to purchase a Dash 5000 monitor. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 - Fort HealthCare is hosting a lunch and learn class to help interested community members learn effective ways to tackle the challenges associated with biking to work. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 - WOW explores topics of personal health, while offering opportunities to win prizes and meet other local women with similar interests. The kick-off event will be a wellness expo held Saturday, June 4, 9:00 a.m. to noon, at the Fort HealthCare Therapy & Sport Center, 1504 Madison Avenue in Fort Atkinson. The expo will feature information about seniors, mothers of young children, family health, motivation, fitness basics and weight management, as well as drawings for door prizes. Wound & Edema Center receives second consecutive "Center of Distinction" award

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 - For the second year in a row, Fort HealthCare physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered to celebrate being named a Center of Distinction. To be eligible for the Center of Distinction award, strict criteria must be met. The clinic must attain greater than 90 percent patient satisfaction, Fort HealthCare\'s was 95 percent; the total days to heal must be under 30 days, Fort HealthCare\'s was 23 days; and healing outcomes must be over 89 percent, Fort HealthCare achieved 97 percent. Door-to-door community health needs survey begins

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 - Fort HealthCare is embarking on a Community Needs Assessment to identify the pressing health concerns that exist within the region. As part of the comprehensive survey process, survey takers will go door-to-door beginning Wednesday, June 1 in an effort to gather 400 completed questionnaires. We believe it is critical that the public be aware of this survey so they are more receptive to completing the questionnaires. I would very much appreciate your publishing this press release in the next edition of your newspaper, radio broadcast or newsletter. Mini Grant donation to Fort HealthCare pediatrics unit

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 - On Friday, May 13, the Fort HealthCare Pediatrics unit was the recipients of multitudes of toys, games, puzzles and books to entertain children who are hospitalized along with their parents. The donation was made possible through the mini grant program offered by the Vietnam Veterans of Fort Atkinson through the School District of Fort Atkinson. Lake Mills Urgent Care Open House a Success

Monday, May 16, 2011 - The Fort HealthCare Lake Mills Urgent Care clinic hosted an open house event on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests were invited to take a tour of the facility, meet the medical staff and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Fort HealthCare also provided free health screenings (glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol), a hands only cardiopulmonary resuscitation demonstration, giveaways, and a grand prize drawing. Fort HealthCare Partners celebrate 26,036 service hours

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 - Fort HealthCare Partners organization is a group of nearly 250 volunteers who contribute in the hospital each day assisting patients and visitors, making deliveries, offering directions, providing tours and managing the CareLine medical alert program among other activities. During a recent Volunteer Awards Banquet at Koshkonong Mounds Country Club, volunteers were recognized for their tireless efforts. Joe Yaeger, president of the Fort HealthCare Partners, presented a check to Mike Wallace, Fort HealthCare president and CEO, for $556,128.96. The amount represents that dollar value of the 26,036 hours worked by volunteers in the past year. More...

Cambridge Community Foundation Awards Grant to Fort HealthCare

Monday, May 9, 2011 - In April, the Cambridge Community Foundation awarded a $2,400 grant to the Fort HealthCare Cambridge Clinic to upgrade the equipment used for taking care of broken bones. The new equipment makes the delivery of care more comfortable for patients. The equipment that the clinic uses to cut casts off has been replaced with a newer model, which features a vacuum attachment, so that cast dust is contained when the equipment is used, and not permitted to float around in the air. First in the region to share newborn babies via digital media

Monday, May 2, 2011 - Driving east on I-94 has gotten a bit more baby-filled in recent weeks. Fort HealthCare began placing newborn baby photos on the digital billboard, along with name and birth date. The billboards are updated each week featuring babies born during the previous week, making Fort HealthCare the only healthcare system to share baby photos to a mass audience so rapidly. More...
