Dr. Kurtz's Interests:

Dr. Kurtz is the associate program director for the cardiovascular disease fellowship at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. His main professional interest is medical education. His research experience lies mainly in pulmonary hypertension, however, clinically, he is interested in valve disease. Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology, he recently passed the board examination for echocardiography as well. He is a member of both the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA).

Outside of the clinical setting, Dr. Kurtz is a singer and pianist, playing mostly a jazz and rock crossover. He is also very active and enjoys downhill skiing and running.
